There was an SEO Contest in our country in the Philippines and it was exclusively for our fellow Pilipino’s. It was started last September 22, 2008 and will end on December 22, 2008 the keyword is “Promotional Items Corporate Gifts Srednarb”. Srednarb is the opposite of Branders when you spell it backwards you will see. We joined the contest and our entry is this Promotional Items Corporate Gifts Srednarb.
The Rules and Guidelines are great:
1. DOMAIN
1. All domains are in (as long as it is registered within this year and before September 30, 2008)
2. Keyword on Domain: You are only allow up to 2 keywords only on the domain name.
3. No subdomains (meaning, this is not allowed: http://entry-keyword.example.com/)
4. Keywords on Directories are OK (meaning, this is allowed: http://www.example.com/entry-keyword/index.html)
5. Keywords File Names are OK (meaning, this is allowed: http://www.example.com/entry-keyword.html)
6. You must own the domain (meaning, sites like blogspot.com, wordpress.com etc. are not allowed)
* Please create a page (name it whois.html) and place your Name, Email and Website.
For example: Juan De La Cruz, juan@delacruz.com, http://www.juandelacruz.com/
* Upload it on your contest domain, For example: http://www.juandelacruz.com/whois.html2. LINKS
1. You must place at least 10 of the required keywords on your contest entry page. View the required links here.
2. The required links must not be used twice and keywords and links must be unique.
3. The required links must be immediately visible when viewed on a 800×600 screen resolution.
4. Please follow this link format

5. There must be no NOFOLLOW on the required links, meta data and robots.txt
6. The required links must be evenly distributed throughout the page, as long at it follows rule #3.
7. The required links must be placed on the contest entry page all thoughout the contest duration.3. ALLOWED PAGE DETAILS
1. We will only allow STATIC PAGES (meaning it has no programming backend and it is purely HTML).
2. If a dynamic entry page disguises itself as a static page (like .php changed to .html) please report it here.
3. There must be no mention of the word “SEO” or “Contest” on the entry page source code.
4. Please add Google Analytics tracking on your pages. We will use this to determine the site with most traffic.4. ALLOWED SEO TECHNIQUES
1. You can use ANY and ALL MEANS NECESSARY to get your site rank on top of the search results. In the real SEO world, we can do anything to get the rank and traffic we want on our sites. It’s all a matter of the risks you are willing to take before Search Engines ban your site. Blackhat? Whitehat? Greyhat? Anything goes. Just make sure you don’t be penalized by Search Engines or your rank will drop.5. DON’T FAKE IT
1. Make sure you create real traffic and real leads. We can check on our end which ones are fake. We encourage all participants to be honest in getting their target results as in the real world, fake traffic and fake leads mean nothing and it will only hurt your business and your clients.
